Press and media roleplay: building a scene from an interview
Journalist roleplay involves more than writing a report. How information was obtained, what was asked and what characters said are part of play.

A business opening, neighbourhood event or ordinary character’s experience can support a media scene. You do not need to wait for a major crime. A small interview can become an IC publication other characters read and respond to later.
Ask from the character’s knowledge
A journalist character does not automatically know everything the player saw on the forum or heard privately. Establish an IC information source first. Separate who said what rather than presenting a rumour as established fact.
If a café customer complains about service, that is the customer’s view. It does not authorise you to declare the business guilty of a rule breach or crime; you can ask another side of the scene for a response.
Do not write the interviewee’s answer
Ask an open question, wait for the answer and add a short follow-up where useful. Do not decide what the other character feels or must say. The interview itself then becomes play rather than just preparation for an article.
Check server rules and IC recording requirements before using images or recordings. A player’s real photograph or private information is not material for a fictional character report. IC public opinion and a real person’s privacy are different matters.
Leave something for the next scene
A published IC piece can prompt a customer visit, an institutional response or another interview. Give others a subject they can answer instead of forcing everyone towards a predetermined conclusion.
