Launch problems and crashes
Game will not launch, black screen or gta_sa.set
Use a reversible settings test to investigate launch hangs and broken display settings.

What could cause it?
Saved display settings, mods or graphics drivers can produce similar symptoms. 0x004DFE92 has been associated with settings problems, but is not a certain diagnosis.
Try these steps in order
- Close the game and check that the GTA process has ended.
- In Documents / GTA San Andreas User Files, locate only gta_sa.set. If present, rename it to gta_sa.set.backup; keep the folder and saved games.
- Launch again with newly generated defaults. Your graphics preferences may reset.
- If it persists, compare a separate clean installation. Record previous options before using the Windows program compatibility troubleshooter.
Check the result
Retry the same scene. If nothing changes, restore the settings file and ask support with the exact error.
Keep your files safe
To undo, close GTA, keep the newly created gta_sa.set separately and restore the original name of your backup.
