“San Andreas cannot be found” error
SA-MP cannot locate the GTA folder it needs, or the game in that folder is incompatible.

What could cause it?
Downloads, a desktop shortcut or a Definitive Edition folder is not a classic GTA installation.
Try these steps in order
- Use Open file location on your GTA shortcut to find the actual game folder.
- Check that it contains gta_sa.exe and that single-player GTA launches.
- Install SA-MP into that folder. If SA-MP shows a folder selection button, choose the same path.
- Run samp.exe from that folder again. If it still fails, tell support which GTA release you own.
Check the result
SA-MP should accept the game path. Renaming a file to gta_sa.exe does not make an incompatible game compatible.
