Getting started with SA-MP
What is SA-MP roleplay? Starting your first scene
Roleplay means playing a character’s decisions and relationships with other people. You do not need a dramatic history or a major event to begin.

On a SA-MP roleplay server, your character is more than a game model you control. You portray what they know, their habits and the consequences of their choices. Other players portray their own characters, so you do not write the entire scene alone.
Use knowledge your character could have
You may know the server well as a player, while your newly arrived character does not yet know a street name or another person’s history. This is where the IC / OOC distinction starts. Learning through play also gives you reasons to meet people.
In a café, your character could explain that they are looking for work instead of asking which system earns the most money. Ask technical game questions through an appropriate OOC channel.
Create a small scene that invites a response
Give your character a simple aim: finding an address, answering an advertisement or placing an order. Continue according to the other person’s response. Do not decide in advance that someone will hire or like your character.
For example, “Hello, do you know anywhere nearby that is hiring?” allows several outcomes. Even receiving no useful answer can give your character a reason to try another approach.
Progress does not require winning
Rejection, mistakes and backing down can create a relationship or a problem for the next scene. They do not end your story. Every interaction does not need to produce money, status or victory in a conflict.
If the commands are new to you, start with short /me and /do examples. This article introduces the idea; Vice’s current rules take precedence over general roleplay habits.
