Protection money in Vice City means a faction ties itself to a business for 7 days and takes a cut from that business’s till every 5 hours. On paper it is a command; on the street it is a whole roleplay: threats, bargaining, promises of protection. By the rules, only Hood approved and Approved factions can run it.

For the faction

  • The top two ranks tie it: stand within 3 m of the business entrance outside and type /haracbagla. It costs the faction 10 points.
  • The faction must have earned at least 100 points last week (7 to 14 days ago).
  • Collecting needs no rank; whoever from the faction is at the door puts the cut into the faction safe with /haractopla. Collections are 5 hours apart.
  • It works on cafés and restaurants, clubs and bars, offices, pawn shops and other types. Not on stores, electronics, gyms, clothing, gas stations or hotels, not on a business under tax lock, and not on businesses of the faction’s own members.

If you own a business

If the sign on your door shows “Haraç” and a faction tag, protection money is tied to your business. The money comes from the business till, not your pocket; an empty till means no collection. The tie drops on its own after 7 days. If you feel wronged, settle it IC first: call 911 and go to the VCPD. If a roleplay rule was broken (OOC pressure, powergaming), open a ticket under Support.

Protection money roleplay needs a sensible reason; extortion that just drives people away from the game is banned. A new faction still inside its 7-day protection cannot be extorted. For individual protection money, both sides must be at least level 10.
