GTA 6 comes out on Thursday, 19 November 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; there is no PC version yet. It is set in Vice City, the city whose name we have carried for seven years, so we treat this page a bit like local news. Everything announced up to 6 November 2026 is here, and we update it as more comes in.

GTA 6 release date: why the long wait?
When Rockstar first announced the game, the target was 2025. In May 2025 it moved to 26 May 2026, and in November 2025 it moved again to 19 November 2026. It has not moved since; pre-orders are open and the date is holding.
Nobody enjoyed two delays, but big things take time, and we would know (we have extended a maintenance window or two ourselves). GTA V came out in 2013, so the series has kept us waiting 13 years. Two more weeks will not hurt.
Sources disagree on the exact unlock time and the preload day, so we left them out. We will add them once they are settled.
How much does GTA 6 cost?
In the US the Standard Edition is $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition is $99.99. Pre-orders have been open since 25 June 2026.
Prices outside the US depend on your store and currency, so check the game's page on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store for your region.
When is GTA 6 coming to PC?
There is no PC date and no announcement. All we have is Rockstar's track record: GTA V reached consoles in September 2013 and PC in April 2015, 19 months later. For Red Dead Redemption 2 the gap was about a year.
That does not tell you when GTA 6 lands on PC, but it does suggest the wait will be counted in months. Until then, every "GTA 6 PC download" you see is fake, and the only thing you will get from it is malware.
Where is GTA 6 set? Vice City and Leonida
The game takes place in the state of Leonida, Rockstar's take on Florida, with Vice City at its heart. Six regions have been shown so far:

GTA 6 characters: who are Lucia and Jason?
There are two leads. Lucia Caminos is fresh out of prison when the story starts. Jason Duval gets by on small jobs down in the Keys. When an easy score goes wrong, they end up in the middle of a criminal mess that stretches across the whole state, with nobody to rely on but each other.
Other names shown so far include Jason's friend Cal Hampton and Boobie Ike, a local Vice City legend. The rest we will find out together; we do not like spoilers either.
Will GTA 6 have roleplay?
Not for now. Roleplay servers need a PC version and a way for players to run their own servers. We go through when that might happen, and where you can roleplay in the meantime, in the GTA 6 roleplay guide.
A note for everyone waiting on Vice City
Back in April 2020 we wrote this under a GTA 6 thread on our forum: "GTA 6 deserves a bigger, better Vice City." Six years later it turned out right. (We are not claiming Rockstar reads our forum.)
We have carried the Vice City name on SA-MP since 3 November 2019 and turned seven this week. On our account page there is a third city next to Vice City and Los Santos: Leonida. It is locked for now.
