Refuse RP

Logging off or dropping your connection in the middle of an aggressive scene. In Vice it starts with jail and ends in a ban if repeated. Against the police the penalty is fixed and heavy.

Term · bannedUpdated 2026-11-07

Refuse RP means refusing the roleplay: someone is mugging you, kidnapping you or has you cornered, and you log off. Or your connection “just drops”. The other player’s effort goes straight in the bin, so in Vice this is a direct reason for a penalty.

  • In aggressive roleplay between factions or players: jail, and a ban if it keeps happening.
  • Using third-party software or an exploit to escape a scene counts as a force crash (see bug abuse).
  • In a scene with law enforcement that is going against you (a gunfight, resisting, fleeing) you cannot log off for 60 minutes.

Logging off after the police arrive

Logging off to save your character or weapon after the police head to a gunfight has a fixed penalty:

TimePenalty
FirstJail (on top of the IC sentence)
SecondOne-week ban
ThirdPermanent ban

Source: Vice Roleplay rules A.13.3.

Crashing your game to respawn somewhere far like Verdant Bluffs is a ban without warning. If your connection really dropped, coming back is up to the admin; if you have proof, report it under Support once the scene is over.
